Kronis is a family of five SaaS applications covering the full life of an EU grant, from finding a call through to surviving the audit that follows. We redesigned and rebuilt their marketing site, and built the custom functionality behind it.
What We Did:We designed the site and built it in WordPress with Elementor and custom post types.
The site’s job is routing. Five products, three different access models, and two audiences on the same page in one case – a visitor has to land on the right module without reading about the other four. The structure follows the grant lifecycle so the product someone needs is the one they reach first.
Custom Plugin Development: Open calls are the live content on the site, and they do not live in WordPress. We built a plugin that syncs the client’s Airtable base of EU funding calls twice daily and renders them as filterable cards with detail pages, deadline countdowns and forthcoming-call states, with meta descriptions generated per call.
A second piece of custom work handles product cross-selling across the blog. A product taxonomy assigns each article to the relevant Kronis module, and the matching banner and product card are inserted automatically with UTM tracking attached – across more than 100 Elementor articles, without touching them individually.
Schema markup runs through the child theme rather than a plugin: SoftwareApplication for each of the five products, Organization with sameAs and parentOrganization, and Article across the blog.
Migration and Performance: We migrated over 100 blog articles from the old production site to the new build, correcting slugs, restructuring to /blog/ and mapping 301 redirects with no URL lost.
On performance, TTFB came down from 1.1 seconds to 0.15 through caching, image optimisation and Apache tuning, and the hero animation went from a 177 KB SVG to 33 KB, removing the stutter on first paint.
Security headers, security.txt, version disclosure removal, GA4 and GTM, Facebook Pixel, Lusha and IndexNow for Bing and AI search complete the setup.
The Result: A site launched in six weeks, running on custom functionality rather than stacked plugins, with the EU funding data on it updating itself.
