About the Role
At Santos Digital, we craft high-performing, beautifully designed, and scalable digital experiences. We are looking for a skilled and passionate WordPress Web Developer to join our team.
In this role, you won’t just be tweaking pre-made templates—you’ll be building custom, robust, and lightning-fast WordPress websites, developing tailored themes and plugins, and ensuring seamless digital solutions for our global clients. If you love clean code, intuitive UX, and solving complex web problems, you’ll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities
- Custom Development: Build responsive, custom WordPress themes and plugins from scratch using modern front-end standards.
- Performance & Security: Optimize websites for maximum speed, scalability, SEO, and top-tier security standards.
- UI/UX Implementation: Translate Figma/Adobe XD designs into pixel-perfect, interactive web pages.
Maintenance & Support: Troubleshoot, debug, and maintain existing client websites, ensuring smooth updates and zero downtime.
- Integration: Connect WordPress sites with third-party APIs, CRM systems, and e-commerce platforms (WooCommerce).
Collaboration: Work closely with our designers, project managers, and SEO specialists to deliver top-notch digital products.
What We’re Looking For (Requirements)
- 3+ years of experience building custom WordPress websites and themes.
- Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3/SASS, JavaScript (ES6+), and jQuery.
- Solid understanding of the WordPress core, database structure (MySQL), and REST API.
- Experience with page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg blocks) alongside custom code solutions.
- Familiarity with Git version control and modern front-end build tools.
- Good knowledge of website optimization tools (PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix) and SEO best practices.
- Good command of English (both written and spoken) for team collaboration.
Nice to Have
- Experience with modern JS frameworks (React or Vue.js).
- Hands-on experience with WooCommerce customization.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX design principles.
